Ubuntu 12.10 (QQ) is released today with a big eye catching picture on Ubuntu’s home page to encourage users to choose Ubuntu 12.10 instead of the incoming Windows 8:
It has been 8 years since the first release of Ubuntu in October 2004, and Ubuntu has accomplished a lot and has become the most popular Linux distro in the Linux world. But does Ubuntu have a promising future? This is the question I asked in Ubuntu’s official forum and there are some very good responses. If you are interested in the discussion, click here.
UPDATE: Perhaps Ubuntu realized that smacking down Windows 8 is not a good marketing strategy, they changed the wording on their home page to "Your wish is our command".
